• Description
• The Cantek MT43D 42” Single Head Metal Wide Belt Sander is designed to be easy to use and durable for the removal of oxidation, deburring, and slag. The single rubber contact drum features efficient material removal capabilities and the 8” (200mm) contact drum is equipped with pneumatic belt tensioning for fast belt changeovers. The precision digital thickness control allows the operator to accurately enter the desired thickness which moves the table precisely into position for repeatable results. The industrial welded steel frame and powerful features all come in a compact package making the MT43D ideal for smaller to midsized shops.
• Sanding Units
• 8” (200mm) rubber contact sanding drums with a powerful 20HP motor. The sanding head is equipped with a quick-release handle for quick abrasive belt changes.
• 25HP Sanding Motor with Disc Braking
• Equipped with a powerful 25HP sanding motor and a pneumatic disc braking system to swiftly stop the sanding head when the stop button is pressed or when a fault occurs on the machine. This allows for fast belt changes and enhances operator and machine safety. Additionally, the sanding motor comes equipped with a Wye-Delta soft control which reduces power consumption on startup.
• Electronic Belt Tracking
• An advanced electronic belt tracking system uses a send-and-receive sensor that delivers pinpoint accuracy in detecting the sanding belt. This precision ensures the most reliable belt tracking increasing overall performance. Specially located air nozzles ensure the sensor and reflector remain dust free. Each sanding head is equipped with belt overrun limit switches which are designed to shut down the machine in the event a belt over travels preventing damage to the belt.
• Control Panel with Digital Thickness Setting
• The sander is equipped with a digital thickness control allowing for precision thickness adjustment. The control can be set in inch or metric with a resolution to 0.005” and 0.1mm. The table can also be jogged up or down using independent push buttons. The sanding head is equipped with an ammeter allowing the operator to monitor the load for optimal finish results and belt longevity. The bypass key switch allows the operator access to the sanding unit for convenient tracking adjustment. The machine comes equipped with an emergency stop button on the front and rear of the machine for added operator and machine safety.
• Conveyor Belt
• The reinforced rubber conveyor belt provides optimum grip while remaining very consistent in thickness for optimum sanding precision. A conveyor belt tracking system automatically tracks the belt to prevent it from running off to one side.
• Variable Feed Speed
• The feed conveyor is powered by a 1HP motor with a variable feed pulley system enabling the operator to adjust the feed speed for various sanding applications, belt grits, wood species, for desired sanding results.
• Table Elevation Jack Screws
• The table is raised and lowered by four industrial jack screws ensuring perfect flatness and added durability. The screws are covered with rubber bellows to prevent dust contamination.
• Safety Systems
• The S-series comes equipped with a wide range of features designed for both operator and machine safety. A safety bump bar on the infeed bed allows the operator to quickly shut the machine down even if their hands are in use. An adjustable material over height safety bar protects the machine from feeding thicker material than was intended. There are limit switches on the left and right access doors which will not allow the machine to run when left open. An emergency stop button is located in front and at the rear of the machine.
